Stefka Georgieva – architect in the state planning system in Bulgaria (1923 – 2004)
The latest instalment of Architektur im Ringturm will pay tribute to Bulgaria’s best-known female architect of the second half of the 20th century and her fascinating work behind the Iron Curtain: Stefka Georgieva. The upcoming exhibition presents a portrait of the life’s work of an exceptional protagonist on the Bulgarian architectural scene in the 1960s and 70s, focusing on the buildings and projects she designed. Each of her creations has a distinctive look, a feature that has secured Georgieva’s place in her home country’s architectural history.
